Recognizing the importance of human resources, Pwi-Di-Goo-Zing Ne-Yaa-Zhing Advisory Services has developed and implemented a comprehensive plan which addresses the seven First Nation’s requirements. The two main areas which are focused on include:
With input, assistance and direction from all the other departments, the Human Resource Coordinator ensures that all capacity development and strengthening governance activities are relevant and current. Since the institution of the Human Resource Department in 2002, more that fifty workshops have been identified and offered. Examples of workshops include;
All workshops are available to employees and leaders of member First Nations and organizations. Targeted training for individual programs within First Nations has also been implemented. Much of the targeted training deals with specific governance issues, such as the development of policies and procedures. Other services offered by the Human Resource department include Human Resource Management advice and support. Advice ranges from specific confidential personnel issues to pertinent legislation in specific programs. Support is given in developing standard position descriptions, job postings, salary scales and policy issues.
